Sunday School Classes:
Just as we go to school to build an academic foundation for functioning in the working world, we come to church to develop a Christian foundation for continued spiritual growth. Sunday School classes are held from nursery to youth.
Preschool Division: The nursery is provided and is an integral part of our Sunday School. We believe that when babies learn to love to come to Sunday School, it has a positive impact on their lives. Classes are available for three, four, and five year olds. Their learning includes creative play, story time, and group activity time. Early Chritian learning is an important basis for a happy, healthy childhood.
Elementary Division: Elementary classes include children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade. Children learn best by doing, so lessons are provided using "a hands on approach" as well as things to hear and see.
Younger Youth (Yo-yos): Yo-yos is a program for 2nd-5th graders who have lots of fun and fellowship . They meet once a month for activities, programs, and outreach activities.
Chldren's Time:
Every Sunday, except Communion Sundays, there is a special time for children. On the second Sunday each month, the focus is mission oriented and the children collect food/money for the local food pantry. The other Sundays, there is children's sermons, puppet presentations by the puppeteers, and/or children's choral presentations. There are children's bulletins available for the children who remain in worship. These are coordinated with the sermons according to the lectionary. There are also bags of crayons and sheets to keep smaller children occupied during the worhsip service.
Children's Church:
This worship service is especially designed for children - it enables them to fully participate in the worship experience. Four year olds through first grade children leave the sanctuary after the children's time for a structured program.
Vacation Bible School:
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is held each summer and involves lots of children and workers. Time is spent in learning activities that are designed for children who are at least three years old. VBS is a highlight of the summer for many children and provides wonderful opportunities for youth and adults to serve in the Children's ministry.
Parent's Night Out:
Parent's Night Out is fun, safe activity that provides child care for parents who need a night out. It is held the 2nd Friday of each month in the Fellowship Hall from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. Children who are 3 years old through 6th grade are invited to participate. The cost is $5.00 per child which pays for their meal.
Dowel Rod Ministry:
Liturgical movement group using wooden dowels.
Hope's Harmony and God's Love Choirs:
Sing unto the Lord! Preschool/K/first graders (God's Love) and second graders and up (Hope's Harmony) learn and sing songs of praise and joy. These groups provide special music for worship services on many occasions during the year. The choirs meet on Sundays 4:00 - 4:45 PM. We are currently preparing songs for Palm Sunday and Mother's Day. If you want to be a part of one of these groups, please contact Jan Dease (732-9333) or Melissa West (732-0795).

All youth 3rd thru 7th grades are invited to participate in this serving opportunity. Acolytes assist in leading worship by lighting the altar candles. Training is provided.
